93-YEAR-OLD’S VISIT INSPIRES FELLOW VETERANS

Categories: News

The First Tee of Broward has a weekly veterans’ program that teaches golf and allows our nation’s heroes to connect with others who served in the military. Our program at Woodlands Country Club in Tamarac was recently visited by World War II veteran Robert Bloomfield.

The 93-year-old veteran was visiting his son Jack Bloomfield, our chapter Director of Operations. The WWII vet, who used to sport a single-digit handicap, participated in a putting contest and hit some balls on the range. His fellow veterans enjoyed meeting and talking with him and were clearly inspired by his stories about his wartime experience.
