PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT: MISSION UNITED VETERANS

Categories: News

Our Chapter partners with United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED to deliver a golf program to local Veterans. With the help of Woodlands Country Club and Weston Hills Country Club we offered golf coaching programs, open to veterans, free of charge.

PGA Professionals and Chapter Coaches provide instruction on the game, the use of adaptive equipment when necessary, and are paired with our heroes to create an inclusive environment to learn and enjoy the game.

For the final class for this session, the coaches, volunteers, and Veterans enjoyed playing a 4-hole scramble at Woodlands.

“It was a pleasure to be with you guys and learn about this great game of golf,” said Veteran Kevin Sutton. “It has helped me tremendously with my PTSD and getting out and socializing. I want to offer a big thank you to all of the volunteers who took the time to come out and teach us. Words cannot express the great boost in spirit you guys help bring to us.
